The santa cruz county clerk has released an updated vote count for santa cruz county supervisorial district-5. with the addition of thousands of vote-by-mail ballots, the race between bruce mcpherson and eric hammer remains undecided, but is still likely headed to a runoff in November. Mcpherson, who could claim the seat by breaking the 50-percent mark, has received 49-point-66 percent of the district’s vote. With only a few remaining provisional ballots to counted before the results are certified, it is unlikely that mcpherson will receive enough votes to avoid a runoff. Eric hammer has garnered 37-point-76 percent of the vote.
