Although Monterey city officials have approved a land-use designation, that could lead to 400 apartments being built in what is currently a Light Industrial and Commercial area, the project isn’t without it’s naysayers. The apartments would be built on the south side of Garden Road, and there are concerns that a full Environmental Impact Report should have been required for the property…. instead of just a Mitigated Negative Declaration.
