Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

TODAY, TUESDAY, APRIL 15TH IS THE DEADLINE FOR FILING STATE AND FEDERAL TAX RETURNS. LOCAL TAX PREPARERS WARN PROCRASTINATORS THAT THE I-R-S DOES NOT CONSIDER “HAVING TROUBLE PULLING TOGETHER DOCUMENTS” AS A VALID REASON FOR NON-PAYMENT OF TAXES. EVEN IF YOU FILE FOR AN EXTENSION, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SEND PAYMENT TOMORROW WITH YOUR REQUEST. MANY PREPARERS ON THE CENTRAL COAST WILL HAVE EXTENDED HOURS IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE. CONTACT PREPARERS DIRECTLY TO FIND OUT HOURS OF OPERATION AND AVAILABILITY OF STAFF. IF YOU ARE MAILING YOUR RETURN, MOST LOCAL POST OFFICES WILL HAVE NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS, HOWEVER THE LUNDY LANE BRANCH IN SAN JOSE WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 8:30 P-M.
THE I-R-S EXPECTS 35 MILLION RETURNS TO BE FILED IN THE LAST REMAINING DAYS AND ANOTHER 12 MILLION WILL REQUEST A SIX MONTH EXTENSION.
