A  1 THOUSAND DOLLAR REWARD IS BEING OFFERED, FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF THE PERSON WHO ABANDONED A HORSE IN THE ROYAL OAKS AREA OF NORTH MONTEREY COUNTY THIS WEEK. THE 12-15 YEAR-OLD GELDING WAS FIRST SEEN RUNNING LOOSE IN THE SAN MIGUEL CANYON ROAD AREA ON SUNDAY. HE WAS UNDERWEIGHT AND SUFFERING FROM A SEVERE LEG DEFORMITY, THAT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY AN UNTREATED INJURY.

ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION ON WHO MAY HAVE ABANDONED THE HORSE IS ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT THE S-P-C-A FOR MONTEREY COUNTY.
