Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

An armed homeowner in Watsonville was able to fend off a robbery suspect early this morning.   Police say the resident on the 200-block of Carey Avenue answered a knock at the door just after midnight to find a man wearing a mask holding a gun.  The resident shut the door as the suspect attempted to kick the door in, kicking a hole through the door where he aimed a gun at the victim.  The victim grabbed his own gun who then warned the suspect that he too was armed.   The suspect ended up running away, no injuries were reported and nothing was stolen.
