The Monterey Planning Commission will consider approving a mixed use project along with several open-air seating proposals this week. One proposal calls for building a 32-apartment and retail project on several parcels now occupied by nine vacant, run down buildings on the 200-block of Lighthouse Avenue and Foam Streets. City staff says the project would help revitalize the neighborhood. Meanwhile, the other proposal calls for developing outdoor seating at six locations on Alvarado Street at Cibos, Crepes, New Craft Brewery, Lollapalooza and two vacant sites on the 400-block of Alvarado.
