A Santa Cruz County Man known for his philanthropic contributions, and his longtime involvement with the Gilroy Garlic Festival, has died. Peter Ciccarelli was 60-years of age when he died Saturday after battling with multiple sclerosis for years. Ciccarelli began working for the Gilroy GarlicFestival in 1997 in media relations. He was also a volunteer of the ATT Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Friends of Ciccarelli say he was a positive person who had a love of life. He was born in Buffalo, New York, spent his childhood in Texas prior to settling down in Capitola with his wife Connie. Ciccarelli is survived by his wife, Connie and daughter Amanda.
