W’Ville Wildland Blaze (Fri) 10-14-13 10:00 av

No injuries were reported after a small wildfire was extinguished Friday afternoon in Watsonville.   Fire crews responded to an area behind the 200-block of Green Meadow Drive near Main Street just before 2 p.m.   Officials say the blaze burned an area about 25-by-100-feet before it was extinguished 10 minutes after responders arrived.    Firefighters say the blaze may have been started by a downed power line after electricity was knocked out in the area. The cause is still under investigation.
