Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

A  BODY WAS FOUND FOLLOWING AN EARLY MORNING FIRE IN WATSONVILLE ON FRIDAY.  FIRE CREWS RESPONDED TO A 2:30 A-M CALL ON THE 1 HUNDRED BLOCK OF PIONEER ROAD.  IT TOOK FIREFIGHTERS UNTIL AFTER 4 A-M TO EXTINGUISH THE 2 STORY BARN THAT HAD BEEN CONVERTED TO A RESIDENCE. FIRE INVESTIGATORS FOUND THE REMAINS OF CHARRED MALE BODY SIFTING THROUGH THE ASHES. THE REMAINS WERE TURNED OVER TO THE CORONERS OFFICE. THE FIRE DOES NOT APPEAR SUSPICIOUS; HOWEVER OFFICIALS SAY THE BUILDING WAS NOT APPROVED AS A RESIDENCE.
