Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

A CAPITOLA FAMILY WAS LEFT HOMELESS AFTER THEIR HOUSE WAS DESTROYED IN A FIRE OVER THE WEEKEND.  FIRE CREWS RESPONDED TO THE 700-BLOCK OF MONTEREY AVENUE AROUND 9:30 SATURDAY NIGHT, TO DISCOVER MOST OF THE DAMAGE WAS COMING FROM THE BACK SIDE OF THE HOME.   THE FAMILY WAS ABLE TO SAFELY EVACUATE AFTER BEING ALERTED BY THE HOME’S FIRE ALARMS.  THE CAUSE OF THE BLAZE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED.
