Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

THE LIGHT BROW APPLE MOTH HAS BEEN ON THE CENTRALCOAST SINCE 2007. THE PEST WAS MOST LIKELY INTRODUCED TO THE AREA BY SMUGGLED FRUIT, MOST LIKELY FROM HAWAII. CALIFORNIA IS THE ONLY CONTINENTAL STATE INVADED BY THE MOTH, THAT WAS UNTIL RECENTLY CONFINED TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. MANY AREAS ARE QUARANTINED FOR THE MOTH INCLUDING MONTEREY COUNTY. THE MOTH WHICH EATS ALMOST ANYTHING HAS NOW BEEN OBSERVED IN MORRO BAY.
