THE KING CITY MAN SHOT BY POLICE ON SATURDAY NIGHT ON THE 300 BLOCK OF VANDERHURST STREET HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS 27-YEAR-OLD LUIS MIGUEL TAPIA.  THE POLICE ENCOUNTERED TAPIA WHEN THEY RESPONDED TO A 9-1-1 CALL CLAIMING A DOMESTIC DISPUTE WAS OCCURRING AT THE RESIDENCE.    ALLEGEDLY, LUIS MIGUEL TAPIA ADVANCED ON THE OFFICERS WITH A KNIFE AND DID NOT RESPOND TO ORDERS TO STOP AND DROP THE KNIFE.     TAPIA REMAINS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AT A TRAUMA CENTER IN SAN JOSE.  THE CASE IS BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE MONTEREY COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY.
