Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

A MARINA APARTMENT COMPLEX WAS EVACUATED YESTERDAY AFTER A FIRE BROKE OUT.   FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED TO THE 3300 BLOCK OF DEL MONTE BOULEVARD AROUND 4:15 P.M., TO FIND DARK SMOKE COMING OUT OF ONE OF THE EIGHT UNITS IN THE BUILDING.   RESIDENTS FROM THE OTHER SEVEN UNITS WERE EVACUATED WHILE THE BLAZE WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED.    OFFICIALS SAY THE UNIT’S RESIDENT WAS NOT HOME WHEN THE BLAZE BROKE OUT.   THE APARTMENT SUSTAINED HEAVY HEAT AND SMOKE DAMAGE.    THE CAUSE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
