A VEGETATION FIRE BURNED BETWEEN 30 AND 40 ACRES NEAR PAICINES (IN SAN BENITO COUNTY) YESTERDAY. THE BLAZE WAS REPORTED AT ABOUT 5:45 P.M., AND FIREFIGHTERS HAD IT FULLY CONTAINED BY 7 P.M. IT BURNED NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF AIRLINE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 25) AND GLORIA ROAD. A CIVILIAN SUFFERED 2ND DEGREE BURNS BEFORE FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE. THAT VICTIM SELF-TRANSPORTED TO HAZEL HAWKINS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN HOLLISTER. THERE WERE NO EVACUATIONS OR ROAD CLOSURES CONNECTED WITH THIS VEGETATION FIRE.
