Several fires broke out over the weekend in the greater Monterey Bay Area….
- Lake Nacimiento Resort And Campgrounds was evacuated over the weekend, due to a 20+ acre fire that damaged at least 2 homes in the area. Firefighters remained on-site throughout the night.
- A brush fire burned 35-acres along Fairview and John Smith Roads in Hollister. No structures were damaged or threatened.
- Highway 101 was shut down for a while as firefighters worked to contain a 6-acre fire alongside the highway, between Central Avenue and 1st Street in King City.
The causes of all 3 fires are still being investigated.
