The 32 year-old man, who was shot and killed during an attempted armed robbery in Watsonville on Saturday, was one of the thieves. Dominic Quintana suffered the fatal shot after he had fled the house. His cohort, 49 year-old Louis Ledesma, was caught a short ways away. The homeowners, 46 year-old Elias Gutierrez, and his 25 year-old son Eli, were booked into Santa Cruz county jail on murder charges. The thieves were reportedly trying to rob the Gutierrez’ of “large amounts of marijuana”, and they did manage to get out of the house with some.
