The death of a 24 year-old inmate in Santa Cruz County Jail on Monday is believed to have been a homicide. Watsonville resident German Carillo, who has been held in Santa Cruz County Jail on murder charges since April of 2013, was found dead in the cell he shared with other inmates. Carillo had been charged as being 1 of 4 people (who are accused of having beaten and stabbed Felipe Reyes to death in February of 2013).
