28 citations were written for illegal fireworks in Hollister. Police officers there used an app called “FOREalert”, which was initially designed to allow area residents (who downloaded it) to notify police officers about shootings. For Hollister it was used to report fireworks…..and more than 600 people reported firework activity through the app.
