The 25 cent surcharge, that was supposed to go into effect in Santa Cruz county today, will not be doing so until at least next January. That’s because Santa Cruz County Supervisors unanimously decided yesterday to delay the start of the disposable cup fee. Their decision was based on Covid-19-driven sanitation restrictions and guidelines. The new fee would have applied to 433 businesses in the unincorporated portions of the county.
