Santa Cruz County authorities, along with the United Way, are reminding residents of Santa Cruz County that the 2-1-1 help line is available to take your non-emergency calls. The helpline is designed to take some of the burden away from 9-1-1 dispatchers, in the event a resident might need assistance that doesn’t require emergency responders. The effort to promote the 2-1-1 hotline is part of a goal set by the United Way to direct as many as 5-hundred calls a month to the line. By calling 2-1-1, residents can be connected with a local agency that can assist them in many ways.
