Several hundred people turned out for the 46TH annual Safeway World Champion Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay yesterday. This year’s winning pumpkin weighed-in at 2-thousand 175 pounds, and was grown in Napa by Leonardo Urena. At 7 dollars a pound for the winning giant gourd, Urena received a check for 15 thousand 225 dollars. The Weigh-Off is the kick-off to this coming weekend’s 49th annual Art And Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay.
