A man accused of killing a Santa Cruz store owner was found to be guilty of first degree murder by a Santa Cruz jury today. Charles Anthony Edwards III of San Francisco allegedly stabbed 38-year-old Camouflage store owner Shannon Collins to death on Broadway Street back in May of 2012. In January of that same year, Edwards had been released by mistake from Atascadero State Hospital. The second phase of the murder trial is slated to start February 9th, which will determine whether he was sane at the time of the brutal stabbing.
