Although the 6th death from Covid-19 was announced in Monterey county last week, a woman (who spent 2 weeks on a ventilator with Covid-19 in Santa Cruz county) was discharged from Watsonville Community Hospital on Friday. 35 year-old Esther Abundis was reportedly very ill when she was admitted to the hospital back in March, and nurses said that along with being on a ventilator, Abundis underwent 2 weeks of kidney dialysis as well. She credits everyone who worked with her at WCH for pulling her through.
