2 Salinas residents helped Salinas police officers catch a man who was stealing mail from mailboxes. The incident began at an apartment complex on Natividad Road when the 2 heard someone banging on the mailboxes. When the thief fled the scene, a woman followed the suspect in a vehicle, while a man chased him. The 2 cornered 29 year-old Roberto Rodriguez, until police arrived and took Rodrguez (who was on probation) into custody.
