With people trying to figure out the best way to safely re-open schools during the pandemic, it’s important to know that 2 more teenagers have died from Covid-10 and more than 38,000 minors have contracted the virus….and that’s just in Florida alone. Even though young people were first thought to be less vulnerable to Covid-19, and they do tend to get less severe cases of the virus….they are certainly not immune (as was originally posited). Along with that, some medical personnel say that keeping schools shut could actually play a role in reducing the cases of the virus in areas with high infection rates. That’s because a study published last week showed that school closures in the U.S. (from March to May) might have led to a million fewer Covid-19 cases, and could have saved more than 40,000 lives.
