There are now 2 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, also known as covid-19, in santa cruz county. The first was confirmed on saturday. That county resident had traveled on the Grand Princess Cruise Ship from San Francisco to Mexico in mid-February. The 2nd case was confirmed in a person who had traveled to Seattle, and is believed to have contracted the virus there, before returning home on a commercial flight. That patient is now in isolation and recovering.
