Officials with the gilroy garlic festival have reported that 18-thousand dollars was stolen from the festival’s receipts. The money was taken from a cash drawer during the course of the weekend festival, which was held july 27th to the 29th. The money was reported missing august 2nd, however Gilroy police do not plan to take up the investigation until resources are available, (as other investigations continue in the city). The robbery comes in addition to the theft of 1-thousand tickets, that were stolen before the festival began.
