17 more charges against former neuro-surgeon James Kohut have now been challenged. That after 13 charges against Kohut were dismissed last year by Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge John Salazar. Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge Ariadne Symons is scheduled to review the charging information, (and the defense rebuttal), in early June. The 4 alleged victims are Kohut’s co-defendants Rashel Brandon’s son, and Emily Stephens’s son and daughter, and a 13 year-old girl. Kohut, Brandon, and Stephens remain in custody in Santa Cruz County Jail.
