The National Institute Of Food And Agriculture has invested 11 million dollars into research that will support specialty crops. 4 Universities across different growing regions in the U.S. will lead regional IR-4 programs…..and one of those is the University Of California At Davis. The overall goal of the Interregional Research Project #4 (also known as the IR-4 program) is to facilitate the provision of safe, effective and economical pest management solutions for growers of minor/specialty crops (such as many of those grown here on the Central Coast).
