2 men were sentenced last week for a gang-related shooting last year. 21-year old Edgar Maldonado and 17-year old Eddy Lopez were sentenced to spend 21 and 19 years in prison for shooting an 18-year old victim in the 400 block of Calaveras Drive on June 2009. Both Maldonado and Lopez pleaded no contest to attempted murder and admitted personal use of a firearm and a gang enhancement. According to officials, Lopez was tried as an adult due to the seriousness of the crime.
