Monologue

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing coral reefs dying. Explaining that as countries dam up their major water ways the silt (minerals) don’t make it to the oceans. Cutting off the food supply of micro organisms. Stating that he has patented a system to move the silt over the dams getting it to the oceans. Asserting this way the coral reefs can be saved.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study of kidney transplants. In the U.S. some 93,000 are on the kidney transplant wait list. Despite this some 3500 donated kidneys are tossed out. Because the kidneys are considered to of lower quality from older and comorbid donors. Researchers compared U.S. transplants with France from 2004 to 2014. In that time period of the donated kidneys the French transplanted twice as many. Then with a computer model set about seeing how many of the U.S. kidneys would be transplanted using the French critiria. Some 62% more transplants would have happened in France.
