Salinas man pleaded “no contest” yesterday to a shooting that involed a police officer 4 years ago. 23-year old Danny Franco was driving a Ford Explorer on September 16th of 2006 when officers attempted to stop the SUV because it was reportedly used as a getaway vehicle during an attempted homicide. Franco, who was charged with attempted murder and assault with a firearm on a police officer, was facing life in prison. He is expected to be sentenced next month to 25-years and 4 months.
