Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing home healthcare. Asserting that most medical tests done in a doctors office can be done safely and inexpensively home. This will prevent patients being labelled as “type 2 diabetic” for example. Which could lead to people having higher insurance payments.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study of diet sodas. Researchers analyzed ten years worth of data for more than 4300 people. Finding those diet consuming one diet artificially sweetened daily can triple the risk of a ischemic stroke. Compared to non-diet soda drinkers those drinking diet sodas also have an increased risk of dementias and Alzheimer’s.
