In the past year Americans borrowed some $88 billion to pay for health care. Some adluts chose not to seek treatment for a medical issue because of the cost. Another 41% of respondents also said that they did not seek care at an emergency department due to costs. Americans elected to forgo medications due to cost to the tune of 15 million not filling prescriptions due to cost.
